I have been asked what it takes to broadcast over the Internet. I consulted with Live 365 and there packages that include royalty payments looks preety good. So, WE are a non profit orginization. is there anyway to broadcast free or at a mimal cost over the Internet and if so what is required to do this. Would we need to keep logs and send payments to ascap and other music agencies? How are you doing internet broadcasting and what equipment are you using. Thanks.

All I have is a stream that's running through winamp and shoutcast. I can switch it from winamp to my sound card, and speak into my mic and the stream will pick it up. Is this what your going to try and do?

Or, u can go to shoutcast.com, download the client and the source for winamp, not pay a thing, and broadcast.

well i plan to do this too eventually, since i have found most places don't let you play more then maybe 2 or 3 songs at a time is what i was told, from the same artist i mean. Anyway I already downloaded the shoutcast server, and i already have all the encoders i need and winamp, so as far as i'm concerned i see nothing wrong with not paying a dime especially if its..oops, ok now that the train of thought is back um, I guess i was saying i plan to have a stream of my own, but if its private and not public, makes it harder to find don't ya suppose?smile

Or, if u can, put it on Klango. I did that, and I had to expand my listener max, because it hit its peak, and when I checked again this morning, I'll probably have to expand it again, as it almost hit that cap. But, yes, a website will definitly help.
